Türk Telekom will acquire data services provider Invitel International for nearly €197 million. The seller, Invitel Holdings, is divesting its international wholesale business in order to focus on its retail business in Hungary.
The deal will allow the buyer to capitalise on its hub location by connecting increasing data/broadband traffic within the central and eastern European region, and from Turkey, Middle East and Asian markets to Western Europe and the US.
The company will also acquire Invitel’s subsidiaries, AT-Invitel, Invitel International Hungary and SC EuroWeb Romania, as part of the deal, which is awaiting regulatory approvals.
Invitel International, which has a total enterprise value of €221 million, provides data and capacity services in central and south-eastern Europe with a 27,000 kilometre optical fibre network and presence in 16 countries. GTB
