ZTE has signed a deal with Telekom Malaysia to construct a national high speed broadband network in Malaysia. The network aims to increase broadband home penetration rate to 50% from the current 35% by the end of 2010.
The Chinese telecom equipment and network provider will provide multi-service access nodes for the network development. ZTE is also planning to launch its Asia-Pacific FTTx business model, which will provide broadband solutions for full-service operators in Asia-Pacific countries including Malaysia and Indonesia.
Separately, China Telecom has entered into a $146.44 million passive optical network equipment agreement with ZTE. The equipment will manage China Telecom’s city optical network project, which was launched in 2009. GTB
