Vodafone Portugal has selected the service broker services of Nokia Siemens Networks to enable seamless convergence of circuit-switched services with new data services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
NSN’s service broker solution, which enables convergence of services including personnel greeting voice, with IMS — IP multimedia subsystem — services, will be fully integrated into Vodafone’s existing IMS and intelligent network systems.
The solution, based on an OpenCloud platform, will reduce time and cost of launching new services and will also allow Vodafone to offer new real-time services without having to adapt other network elements, enabling continuity with established systems including charging and billing. GTB
