Türk Telekom has appointed ZTE as its sole supplier of core network equipment and services for a nationwide all-IP network transformation project. The total capacity of the network will be 17.5 million lines with more than 31 sites, apparently making it the world’s largest ever fixed network replacement contract.
The Chinese vendor will deliver the incumbent operator in Turkey a comprehensive solution including an IMS core network, a service platform, multi-service access nodes and large-capacity trunking gateways.
The network will enable Türk Telekom to launch experience-rich converged services including VoIP over broadband, voice call continuity, converged one number, converged centrex, unified message service, multimedia messaging service, multimedia ring back tone and number portability.
ZTE says it will complete installation and testing of all network hardware by the end of 2010. GTB
