Russian operator Rostelecom is planning to complete its acquisition of CDMA operator Sky Link from Svyazinvest in the early months of 2012, according to company president Alexander Provotorov.
Svyazinvest owns a 43% stake in Rostelecom, while the latter holds a stake of 25% plus one share in Svyazinvest.
Provotorov said that the deal is awaiting antitrust regulatory approval. He added that his company is keen on completing the deal soon as it looks to benefit from Sky Link’s licences. According to Prime Tass news agency, Provotorov said: “We expect the deal to be signed by the end of this year; the deal may be concluded by the beginning of next year.” GTB
