Mahanagar Telephone Nigam
State-owned Indian operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam is planning a tender valued at around $38 million to expand 2G, 3G and broadband services with an aim to stay competitive, according to the local reports.
A source told the Press Trust of India: “The company is likely to float a tender of around 2 billion Indian rupees next month for expansion of capacity for 2G and 3G services in Delhi and Mumbai service areas.” Sources said the operator is also planning to offer cheap services. Companies across the globe can take part in the tender.
The company has extended the dates to submit bids for wireless broadband service by the third party for managing services in new expression of interest. The company has revised the date from January 4 to 23 2012. If the current tender fails, the operator will surrender its broadband wireless access spectrum. GTB
