Sea Fibre signs contract to link low-latency CeltixConnect cable with Colt network

Sea Fibre Networks, which owns European subsea cable CeltixConnect, has signed a contract with telecoms operator Colt. The deal will allow Colt’s customers to use the low latency cable connecting Ireland to the UK with onward access to Colt’s pan-European network.
Diane Hodnett, CEO of Sea Fibre Networks, said: “I am delighted to announce Colt as a customer. Colt is a highly regarded provider with phenomenal pan-European reach and a focus on low latency which the CeltixConnect infrastructure delivers.”
The agreement also extends CeltixConnect’s footprint with a gateway to Europe by connecting the fibre network to London, around the UK and on to the rest of Europe. The 131 kilometre network is the shortest subsea network linking Ireland and Britain, and the new fibre network will more than double the existing data capacity between the two, according to the company.
