Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong has entered a partnership agreement with Vodafone in Hong Kong as part of an agreement with the Conexus Mobile Alliance, of which HTHK is a member.
The Conexus alliance had previously revealed plans for an alliance with Vodafone in the Asia Pacific region, eventually covering partnerships with its other members including Japan’s NTT DoCoMo and Philippines operator Smart.
Under the Conexus agreement, HTHK can sell the Vodafone global enterprise unit’s managed communications services to its multinational customers. The partnership adds newer destinations to HTHK’s flat-rate data roaming daily pass service offer.
Amy Lung, Hutch’s chief operating officer (mobile), said: “Our collaboration with Vodafone will provide us with a hefty boost in terms of broadening our customer base and growing our share of the corporate market, and will help further strengthen our leading position in the sector.”
The Conexus alliance is a group of 11 Asian operators including India’s BSNL and MTNL, South Korea’s KT, Singapore’s StarHub and Vietnam’s Vinaphone. GTB
