Deutsche Telekom and NetCologne challenge regulatory approval for Liberty Global’s takeover of Kabel BW

Deutsche Telekom and NetCologne have challenged approval by the German Federal Cartel Office of Liberty Global’s acquisition of Kabel Baden-Wuerttemberg. The two firms have already registered a complaint at a higher regional court, reported Dow Jones citing a report in local German daily Börsen Zeitung.
Deutsche Telekom and NetCologne recently signed a network sharing agreement that allows DT to use the fibre-optic network of NetCologne, which in turn uses Deutsche Telekom’s high-speed VDSL network in the Nordrhein-Westfalen area.
Deutsche Telekom believes that Liberty Global’s conditions, which have been approved by the Federal Cartel Office, are inadequate for a competitive market, the local report stated. GTB
