The Nigerian Communications Commision is planning to revive the fixed-line telecoms sector in the country, reported the Daily Times of Nigeria.
The regulator will award more fixed line CDMA telephony permits in 2013 to boost Nigeria’s broadband communication, said NCC’s chief executive, Eugene Juwah.
The agency pointed out that currently of the 90 million phone users, those using fixed lines accounted for fewer than 1% of the overall users, indicating growth opportunities in the segment, the newspaper stated. GTB
