A new partnership deal with France Telecom’s Orange Business Services will extend Sprint’s global machine-to-machine connectivity beyond the US to 180 countries.
The deal is with Orange Business Services’ international M2M centre in Brussels, which will deliver the global service to the US operator. The partnership will operate in markets including healthcare, automotive and telematics, smart grid and metering and security.
Rodolphe Frugès, France Telecom Orange’s vice president in charge of M2M, said: “We are thrilled to be Sprint’s partner for end-to-end M2M connectivity outside the US. The choice of Orange by Sprint, a major telecommunications carrier, is a great recognition of our unmatched M2M quality of service and global footprint.â€
Orange will also be providing Sprint with M2M-specific SIM cards and a web portal for Sprint customers that will allow them to order and manage SIM cards. Customers will be able to have one dedicated entity to meet global M2M connectivity needs and will also have an integrated M2M supply chain process.
Frugès added: “We look forward to extending this to Sprint’s enterprise customers as they deploy connected applications that require global and carrier-grade M2M solutions.†GTB
