Deutsche Telekom’s unit T-Mobile USA said that it is cutting another 900 jobs in order to save cash for investment in its mobile network, reported Reuters. This news follows the company’s announcement earlier in 2012 that it will slash nearly 1,900 jobs.
The operator is looking to save cash for its network after its planned acquisition by AT&T failed as a result of regulatory disagreement.
T-Mobile USA will invest $4 billion to upgrade its network and will shut down its seven call centres, leading to 3,300 people or nearly 5% job cuts of its total 36,000 employees, according to Reuters. The operator said earlier that it might slash additional jobs at a future date. GTB
