Bandwidth infrastructure provider euNetworks has upgraded parts of its European long haul network to 100 gigabits a second with the aid of Ciena kit. The company — led by CEO Brady Rafuse — said that the 100 gigabit upgrade is available between Amsterdam, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, London, Manchester and Paris.
The company’s long haul network covers 37 cities in nine nations with metropolitan networks in 13 of these cities.
Rafuse commented: “The growth potential of our combined long haul and metropolitan fibre networks are crucial to our long term bandwidth infrastructure strategy. Over the last year we have deployed our optical network with Ciena.”
Peter Newcombe, Ciena’s vice president of sales for northern and eastern Europe, said: “euNetworks’ customers in the traditional carrier segment as well as financial services, mobile and media segments depend on highly reliable and scalable connectivity services and rely on euNetworks for a state-of-the-art network infrastructure that supports their ambitions.”
Rafuse added: “This development future-proofs our investment, ensuring we have the flexibility in our long haul network that our customers demand.” GTB
