América Móvil’s TracFone Wireless completes acquisition of T-Mobile USA-based MVNO Simple Mobile

TracFone Wireless, a US subsidiary of Latin American giant América Móvil, has completed its acquisition of MVNO Simple Mobile, one of the largest MVNOs on T-Mobile USA’s network, with more than a million customers.
Under the terms of the deal Simple Mobile customers will continue to get services including a $40 unlimited everything SIM-only programme.
The acquisition also enables TracFone to provide services including a 4G offer, Blackberry service and mobile broadband services.
Mexico-based América Móvil, controlled by Carlos Slim, has 246 million wireless customers in central and South America. It has just agreed to buy a substantial share of Telekom Austria in Europe and is bidding for a stake in another European operator, KPN. GTB
