Swedish vendor Ericsson has unveiled a modular solution for operators looking to create hybrid networks

Ericsson has unveiled a new virtualised orchestration solution aimed at facilitating the introduction and closed-loop automation of services across both physical and virtual networks.

Ericsson’s Dynamic Orchestration is a modular solution that allows telcos to manage existing technologies they are seeking to integrate with new virtualisation solutions such as software defined networking (SDN) or network function virtualisation (NFV).

It includes support for zero-touch automation, rapid provisioning and service assurance tools, and can work in multi-vendor environments.

Ulf Ewaldsson, Head of Business Area Digital Services, Ericsson, says: "The opportunities offered by virtualization are significant, but due to the complexity, many operators are taking an incremental step-by-step approach to get there.

“Ericsson Dynamic Orchestration enables our customers to excel at traditional services delivery while simultaneously incorporating virtualization capabilities to embrace emerging market and business opportunities driven by 5G and IoT."

With deployment for virtualisation expected to significantly over the next few years as telecoms companies look to find more flexible ways of deploying network services. According to an HIS report released last year, the NFC market should to $15 billion by 2020.
