Netia CEO quits the Polish company unexpectedly

Tomasz Szopa steeped down from his role as CEO at the beginning of June, with CFO Katarzyna Iwuc appointed to replace him

Tomasz Szopa, the CEO of Polish operator Netia, has quit his post, with no reason given for the sudden resignation.

The Netia management aboard made the announcement that Szopa tendered his resignation on 01 June, but gave little information as to the reasons behind the departure.

The management board said it has appointed chief financial officer Katarzyna Iwuc to take on the responsibilities of CEO. She will also continue as CFO for the time being. 

Supervisory board member Stefan Radziminski has been designated as a temporary member of the management board with responsibility for strategic projects and technology until 01 September.
