TalkTalk announce the resignation of its CFO Iain Torrens, who is to be replaced by Dixons Carphone director Kate Ferry

Kate Ferry has been appointed as the new chief finance officer at TalkTalk, following the resignation of its current CFO Iain Torrens, who is due to step down later this year.

Torrens was made CFO of theTalkTalk group in 2015 and before this, he served as director of ICAP plc from 2010 to 2014. He has also held a number of senior finance roles for companies such as: ICAP plc, CP Ships Limited and Cookson.

Charles Dunstone, TalkTalk's executive chairman and former chairman of Dixons Carphone, said: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Iain for his hard work over the last few years. He has been a valued member of the TalkTalk team and the board and we all wish him well for the future. I am also delighted to welcome Kate to TalkTalk. As we continue our journey under the new leadership team and with a refocused direction, Kate brings a wealth of experience to the role.”

Prior to Ferry's seven years at Dixons Carphone Ferry was a retail analyst at US bank Merrill Lynch and before that, she worked as an audit manager at accountancy firm PwC.

The new appointment comes at a time when TalkTalk is in the midst of a company restructuring that began in February with the departure of the company’s CEO Dido Harding and in May the company was predicted to experience a loss of earnings which is thought to have also influenced these changes.
