Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications appoints Nguyễn Mạnh Thắng as new chairman of MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation

Nguyễn Mạnh Thắng 160 x 186MobiFone finally has a new chairman two months after the former chair, Lê Nam Trà, was transferred to the ministry office. In this interim period, deputy minister of information and communications, Phạm Hồng Hải, took responsibility for chairman duties.

Thắng He was deputy director of VMS - MobiFone for nine years, head of VNPT’s marketing rate department from 2005 to 2010. In August 2010 became chief of office of the Việtnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and has been in VNPT’s members’ council from mid-2014.

Earlier this year, VNPT and MobiFone were on a list of the 240 state-owned companies to be restructured in the 2016-2020 period and among the 27 companies where the government is going to hold between 50% and 65%. GTB
