Globetouch names Greg Ross and Gabriele Di Piazza as new advisors
The former director of General Motors, Greg Ross and the former VP of products and solutions at VMware, Gabriele Di Piazza have been named as advisors at Globetouch
Globetouch, the connectivity services provider, has named former General Motors director, Greg Ross and former VMware VP of products and solutions, Gabriele Di Piazza as new advisors.
Ross enters the role after 31 years at General Motors (GM) and will use this experience to guide Globetouch through the automotive OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and the Connected Car marketplace. Throughout his career Ross has served as an advisor for a number of different connected car businesses. During his time at GM, Ross was instrumental in the growth and scaling of GM’s OnStar, a program which is partnered by Globetouch with to help expand GM’s network capabilities. In addition, Ross also managed GM’s multi-million dollar global portfolio of alliances for its connected vehicle group, and will bring this expertise to Globetouch’s strategy.

Di Piazza brings over 20 years’ of telco experience to the role and has specialist experience in the areas of product management and business development while at companies like VMware, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard. Di Piazza’s appointment comes as the company looks to capitalise on new areas of business growth, especially as Globetouch has become known for helping telcos redefine their business models to take advantage of Smart Cities, Connected Cars and Industrial IoT markets.
